Joy to the world, the Lord is come!
Let earth receive her King;
Let every heart prepare Him room,
And heaven and nature sing,
And heaven and nature sing,
And heaven, and heaven, and nature sing

Joy to the world, the Savior reigns!
Let saints their songs employ;
While fields and floods, rocks, hills and plains
Repeat the sounding joy,
Repeat the sounding joy,
Repeat, repeat, the sounding joy.

He rules the world with truth and grace,
And makes the nations prove
The glories of His righteousness,
And wonders of His love,
And wonders of His love,
And wonders, wonders, of His love.

Luke 2:10-12

And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger.

Psalm 17:6-8

I call on you, my God, for you will answer me;
    turn your ear to me and hear my prayer.
Show me the wonders of your great love,
    you who save by your right hand
    those who take refuge in you from their foes.
Keep me as the apple of your eye;
    hide me in the shadow of your wings

Christ is born today! Joy to the world! The whole season has built up to this day of celebration. We rejoice today because God has not forgotten us. He has come. We rejoice because God has not given up on us. He is here. The love of the Father has relentlessly pursued us. From heaven to earth to Kingdom come. From life to death to resurrection. God has held nothing back in his pursuit of us. This is the wonder of His love. The King has come and He is bringing His Kingdom. And that is the greatest news imaginable for all creation!
