Lent: Day 22
You are good, You are good When there's nothing good in me You are love, You are love On display for all to see
You are light, You are light When the darkness closes in You are hope, You are hope You have covered all my sin You are peace, You are peace When my fear is crippling You are true, You are true Even in my wandering You are joy, You are joy You're the reason that I sing You are life, You are life, In You death has lost its sting
Oh, I’m running to Your arms, I’m running to Your arms The riches of Your love Will always be enough Nothing compares to Your embrace Light of the world forever reign
You are more, You are more Than my words will ever say You are Lord, You are Lord All creation will proclaim You are here, You are here In Your presence I'm made whole You are God, You are God Of all else I'm letting go
My heart will sing no other Name Jesus, Jesus
Luke 15:20-24 And he arose and came to his father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and felt compassion, and ran and embraced him and kissed him. And the son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’ But the father said to his servants, ‘Bring quickly the best robe, and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet. And bring the fattened calf and kill it, and let us eat and celebrate. For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found.’ And they began to celebrate.
1 John 4:16 We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love. God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them.
How bad is too bad? How far is too far? At points in our life we can feel a million miles away from God. Or so sinful that the way back to Him is near impossible. Yet the truth is He is waiting. His passion for you undimmed, His heart towards you unchanged. As He waits for us, His arms are open and His smile is ready. Patiently poised for us to turn and run to Him. The truth is you cannot be too bad, nor go so far, that that smile will ever change.
FATHER help me today to know Your patient and passionate love that I may run into Your arms again, the very place I belong!
