Lent: Day 30
Before the Throne of God Above
Before the throne of God above I have a strong, a perfect plea A great High Priest, whose name is Love Who ever lives and pleads for me My name is graven on his hands My name is written on his heart I know that while in heaven he stands No tongue can bid me thence depart No tongue can bid me thence depart
When Satan tempts me to despair And tells me of the guilt within Upward I look, and see him there Who made an end of all my sin Because a sinless Savior died My sinful soul is counted free For God, the Just, is satisfied To look on Him and pardon me To look on Him and pardon me
Behold him there, the risen Lamb My perfect, spotless righteousness The great unchangeable I AM The King of glory and of grace One in himself, I cannot die My soul is purchased by his blood My life is hid with Christ on high With Christ, my Savior and my God With Christ, my Savior and my God
1 Peter 1:18-19 … knowing that you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your forefathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish or spot.
Colossians 3:3-4 For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in glory.
When the Father looks at me He sees Jesus. Wow. What a mystery it is that we are now hidden in Christ. Now that’s not to say He doesn’t know our sin, because He knows all things. But when He considers me, who I am, He does not see sin. He sees me spotless. He sees me holy. He sees me robed with righteousness. Sin no longer has a bearing on my identity and my standing with God. I am hidden in Christ and will be revealed in glory.
JESUS I do not deserve the privilege of being hidden in You, I am amazed and humbled by Your endless grace! I will love You forever!
