Lent: Day 31
There must be more than this O breath of God, come breath within There must be more than this Spirit of God we wait for You
Fill us anew we pray Fill us anew we pray
Consuming fire Fan into flame A passion for Your name Spirit of God Fall in this place Lord have Your way Lord have Your way With us
Come like a rushing wind Clothe us with power from on high Now set the captives free Leave us abandoned to Your praise Lord let Your glory fall Lord let Your glory fall
Stir it up in our hearts Lord, Stir it up in our hearts Lord, Stir it up in our hearts Lord, A passion for Your name
Hebrews 12:28-29 Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our God is a consuming fire.
2 Timothy 1:6-7 For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands, for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.
One of the reasons we love doing prayer ministry is that it ‘fans the flame’ of the Spirit in us. Every believer has the Spirit living in them. The fire is always lit but it isn’t always bright. We need to continually surrender to the will of God. We need to regularly receive prayer from our brothers and sisters in the Body. Inviting the Holy Spirit to fill us anew and set us ablaze is essential. Never ceasing to ask him to stir our hearts with “a passion for His name”.
HOLY SPIRIT consume my heart, fan the flame, stir a passion for You and Your Kingdom!
