Lent: Day 32
Wide as the Sky
Hands up hearts open wide as the sky We lift You high we lift You high Hands up hearts open wide as we cry God we lift Your name high
Let all the other names fade away Let all the other names fade away Until there's only You Let all the other names fade away Jesus take Your place Jesus take Your place
Our God We lift You high we lift You high Hands up God we lift Your name high
Colossians 1:15-17 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together.
“Lift Your name high” - its something we sing so regularly that it could easily become cliche to us - losing its impact as a phrase of worship. But it shouldn’t. The idea of lifting His name high is about glory - giving it all to Him. Jesus is absolutely worthy, all the time. We repeat this idea so regularly because it is so important. His glory should be our mission, our purpose. His name should be our mantra. Everything we do and all that we are focussed on lifting Him high.
JESUS I love You! Take all I am and use it to exalt Your name! All the glory belongs to You!
