Lent: Day 5
Did You Feel The Mountains Tremble?
Did you feel the mountains tremble? Did you hear the oceans roar? When the people rose to sing of Jesus Christ the risen one
Did you feel the people tremble? Did you hear the singers roar? When the lost began to sing of Jesus Christ, the saving one
And we can see that, God, You're moving A mighty river through the nations When young and old return to Jesus Fling wide, you heavenly gates Prepare the way of the risen Lord
Open up the doors and let the music play Let the streets resound with singing Songs that bring Your hope Songs that bring Your joy Dancers who dance upon injustice
Do you feel the darkness tremble? When all the saints join in one song And all the streams flow as one river To wash away our brokenness
And here we see that, God, You're moving A time of jubilee is coming When young and old return to Jesus Fling wide, you heavenly gates Prepare the way of the risen Lord
Go through, go through the gates; prepare the way for the people; build up, build up the highway; clear it of stones; lift up a signal over the peoples.
To do righteousness and justice is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice.
I have always loved the lyric “Dancers who dance upon injustice”. This is because injustice can’t be fought with anger alone. Righteous indignation cannot change anything. We are called to be a people who bring His joy. A people who manifest the Father’s love with our very selves — alive and overflowing with God. We should not tolerate the injustice we see in the world, but our shout is not one of just anger, but one that “prepares the way of the Lord”. He is here and He is good.
HOLY Spirit cause in me a holy discontent when I see injustice and fill me with joy and love as I seek to bring Your Kingdom here.
