Lent: Day 23

Lord I Need You

Lord, I come, I confess Bowing here I find my rest Without You I fall apart You're the One that guides my heart

Lord, I need You, Oh, I need You Every hour I need You My one defense, my righteousness Oh God, how I need You

Where sin runs deep Your grace is more Where grace is found is where You are And where You are, Lord, I am free Holiness is Christ in me

Teach my song to rise to You When temptation comes my way And when I cannot stand I'll fall on You Jesus, You're my hope and stay

Psalm 35:23 Awake, and rise to my defense! Contend for me, my God and Lord.

Hebrews 4:16 Let us then approach God's throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

There are many times when we are acutely aware of our need for God. Like when we are desperate or broke or defeated. Though in those moments we are in no more need of God than at any other time. We are in constant dependance on Him. God is our persistent defender, whether we realize it or not. Part of worship is acknowledging our need for Him — His power, His mercy and His love — and receiving all He has to give us.

HOLY SPIRIT help me to always be aware of my great need for You to sustain, grow and prosper me!
