Lent: Day 26

The Lord Our God

Promise maker, promise keeper You finish what You begin Our provision through the desert You see it through ‘til the end You see it through ‘til the end

The Lord our God is ever faithful Never changing through the ages From this darkness You will lead us And forever we will say You're the Lord our God

In the silence, in the waiting Still we can know You are good All Your plans are for Your glory Yes, we can know You are good Yes, we can know You are good

We won't move without You We won't move without You You're the light of all And all that we need

Joshua 21:45 Not one word of all the good promises that the LORD had made to the house of Israel had failed; all came to pass.

Deuteronomy 7:9 Know therefore that the LORD your God is God; He is the faithful God, keeping His covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love Him and keep His commandments.

Broken promises cause great pain. Especially from those we love and whose word we trust. God sets out throughout scripture to say that He is not someone who breaks promises. If He says it - it will happen. If He speaks it - it will come to pass. We often don’t understand ‘how’ God works, or ‘why’ He does what He does. And who ever knows ‘when’ God will do what He does? But we can understand this: His character is not up for debate. He is good and He keeps word, without exception.

JESUS help me to trust in Your word, to believe You for every promise and hold nothing back from following You!
