Lent: Day 33

I see the king of glory Coming down the clouds with fire The whole earth shakes, the whole earth shakes I see his love and mercy Washing over all our sin The people sing, the people sing

Hosanna, hosanna Hosanna in the highest

I see a generation Rising up to take the place With selfless faith, with selfless faith I see a new revival Stirring as we pray and seek We're on our knees, we're on our knees

Heal my heart and make it clean Open up my eyes to the things unseen Show me how to love like you have loved me Break my heart for what is yours Everything I am for your kingdom's cause As I walk from earth into eternity

Psalm 24:9 Lift up your heads, O you gates; lift them up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. Who is he, this King of glory? The LORD Almighty--he is the King of glory.

Mark 13:26 Then they will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory.

I’ve always thought it was easier for the early disciples to live expecting Jesus to return. We have had 2000 years of Him not returning. Because of that, few followers live in a way that anticipates His soon return. We presume it will be long after our deaths. Because of that we are missing out. The mind set of a disciple need to be one that longs for His glorious return. To desire to see it our lifetime. To be a ‘generation, rising up’ who will see God’s Kingdom realized in it’s fullness - culminating in the King of Glory taking His place on earth!

JESUS I am eager for Your return, stir up in me a heart for Your Kingdom and glory in all the earth!
