Lent: Day 38
Worthy is the Lamb who was slain Holy, holy is He Sing a new song to Him who sits on Heaven's mercy seat
Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty Who was and is and is to come With all creation I sing praise to the King of kings You are my everything and I will adore You
Clothed in rainbows of living color Flashes of lighting rolls of thunder Blessing and honor strength and glory and power be To You the only wise King
Filled with wonder awestruck wonder At the mention of Your name Jesus Your name is power, breath and living water Such a marvelous mystery
Revelation 5:11-12 Then I looked, and I heard around the throne and the living creatures and the elders the voice of many angels, numbering myriads of myriads and thousands of thousands, saying with a loud voice,
“Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing!”
Power, wealth, wisdom, might, honor, glory and blessing. These are the things that human beings devote their lives to attaining. We strive to gain power and wealth or to be thought of as great, beautiful or clever. Life becomes a game of attainment. Yet we can choose to live another way. Knowing that Jesus, the Lamb who was slain, will eventually receive all these things. What we desire now will all be His anyway. This truth can bring us freedom from our culture’s expectation that attaining these will make us happy and bring us life. Only Jesus can do that.
JESUS You will have everything! All the power, wealth, wisdom, might, honor, glory and blessing I have I will return to Your throne!
