One of our core values is participating in the Kingdom mission of Jesus.

We see the Kingdom of God as rooted in the words and works of Jesus. His love compels us — to love all people, to bring hope and healing in His name, to seek justice and mercy, and to reflect His heart for the poor and broken-hearted. We are committed to making the Good News of the Kingdom tangible, understandable and accessible.

Local Outreach

Lackawanna

River City Church has a vision to see God transform the neighborhood of Lackawanna into a place of authentic and holistic prosperity. We also desire to experience intimacy with God and personal transformation as we join God in His passion for the lost and the poor.

Every Saturday, we have an outreach ministry called Street Corner where residents of the neighborhood arrive outside of the White House at 309 McDuff Ave. S. to pick up donated food and goods. We follow this with a prayer walk in the neighborhood to give away grocery bags and pray for residents. We have partnered with One Love Christian Center to help those who we reach get connected with a local church.

Local Refugees

We have recently come alongside local non-profit Kim’s Open Door to serve and minister to the large population of refugees in Jacksonville. The ministry focuses on reaching refugee children through education and the arts. We’ve begun making lunch for the children on Saturday mornings, twice per month, at the location in Spring Park. We will soon be sharing information about how you can get involved.

Global Outreach

Annual Mission Trips

Each year, we’ll be taking a group of youth and adults on an entry-level mission trip. This summer we are traveling to Honduras from July 20th to 27th to serve with His Eyes Ministries outside the capital city of Tegucigalpa. They have planted four churches over the past fifteen years and have a medical clinic, an after-school ministry, and a coffee farm. There will be a variety of opportunities including working with children, prayer ministry, construction, and evangelism. The cost will be approximately $1,250. More information will be coming soon, but you can sign up today on our website.

Specialty Mission Trips

We’ll also be offering specialty mission trips every two or three years with a specific focus, such as medical relief, prayer ministry, family missions, or unreached people groups.

Venezuela Relief

Anais Santos de Nieto, a member of the River City Church family, is in the process of launching a ministry called Builders for You that is bringing relief to the children of her home nation of Venezuela. They will be dispersing supplies (medical, clothing, food, etc.) to approximately 300 children in various villages who are in great need. She has partnered with five local churches in her home state that will organize and disperse the items. You can drop your donations off at the RCC Offices.
